Cookie Notice

Last updated: June 2026 (v2 — updated for DUAA 2025)
Updated for DUAA 2025: PECR enforcement levels updated to £17.5m/4% turnover; DUAA reference added. Cookie types and consent mechanism unchanged. Data protection contact: Sarah Kiersgaard, Governance Director.

This Cookie Notice explains how the International Sophrology Federation Ltd (“ISF”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website https://sophrologyinternational.org/ in compliance with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as updated by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA).

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function, improve user experience, and provide information to website owners. Cookies may be first-party (set by our website) or third-party (set by services we use).

2. Types of cookies we use

A. Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)

Required for the website to function — cannot be switched off. Do not store personally identifiable information. Include:

  • WordPress core cookies — enable basic site functions and security
  • WP-Membership session cookies — allow members to log in and maintain secure sessions
  • Gravity Forms cookies — support form submissions and prevent spam
  • Complianz consent cookies — store your cookie preferences
  • Server-side logs (WP Engine) — record IP addresses and technical data for security (not a cookie, but disclosed here)

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (site functionality and security).

B. Functional Cookies

ISF does not currently use additional functional cookies beyond those listed above.

C. Analytics and Performance Cookies (Non-Essential)

Our website includes a Google Tag (GTAG) capable of enabling analytics. Google Analytics is not currently active — no analytics cookies are set. If activated in future, this will only happen with your consent and this notice will be updated. Legal basis: Consent.

D. Third-Party Cookies

Some tools may set cookies when you interact with them (embedded Zoom links, Brevo forms if used). These load only when necessary for the function you are using.

3. Cookies currently detected on our site

Our cookie management tool (Complianz) automatically scans and categorises cookies. You can view the full current list at any time by clicking “Cookie Settings” on our website.

4. How you can manage cookies

  • Cookie banner: Accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit
  • Cookie settings panel: Change preferences at any time via “Cookie Settings”
  • Browser settings: Most browsers allow blocking or deleting cookies
  • Opt-out tools: Google provides additional opt-out options if analytics are activated

Rejecting non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

5. Server logs

WP Engine automatically collects IP address, browser type, pages visited, and access timestamps for security and performance only. Retained for 30–60 days. Not used for marketing or analytics.

6. Regulatory Enforcement (DUAA 2025 Update)

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 aligns PECR enforcement with UK GDPR levels.

Serious breaches of cookie rules can now attract fines of up to £17.5 million or 4% of global annual turnover (whichever is higher), replacing the previous £500,000 maximum. ISF’s use of Complianz and our policy of not activating analytics without consent is designed to ensure full PECR compliance.

7. Changes to This Notice

This notice may be updated if we activate analytics or add new website features. The latest version is always available at https://sophrologyinternational.org/.
